2010 AFL Grand Final Replay Results

October 4th, 2010

AFL fans rejoice! We finally have a Premiership winner after the weekend’s stunning AFL Grand Final replay results. In what can only be described as total domination, the Collingwood Magpies returned to form to take a very convincing 108-52 win over the St Kilda Saints.

It seems the Magpies learned from their mistakes last week as they hit the field in the 2010 AFL Grand Final replay and played a strong, physical game of footy from start to finish. They showed aggressive tackling, strong pressure, and all around teamwork en route to their amazing win over the Saints.

Nathan Brown returned with a performance that played an integral part in Collingwood’s success. Brown smothered St Kilda skipper Nick Reiwoldt to extinguish any hope of allowing the captain to fire up his team. Brown’s impressive performance held Reiwoldt to zero goals. Former Saint Luke Ball was another part of Collingwood’s domination as he shut out key player Lenny Hayes. Other impressive performances came from Scott Pendlebury (29 disposals, 11 tackles), Heath Shaw (28 disposals), Dale Thomas (27 disposals), and Dane Swan ( 26 disposals).

Though St Kilda never really stood a chance in this AFL Grand Final replay, they did have their shinning moments. Notable performances came from Brendon Goddard (29 possessions), James Gwilt (20 disposals), and Nick Dal Santo (29 disposals).

So, another year of the AFL has finally been wrapped up. The Collingwood Magpies capped off a fantastic year with their first Premiership title since 1990.
